Fiorentina were one of the clubs that knocked on Barcelona's door to sign Vitor Roque. The Italian side were looking for a forward and the Brazilian was the hot favourite for the job, according to sporting director Daniele Prade.
"We tried to sign Vitor Roque, but the conditions were impossible at the time. Barcelona wanted 40 million euros for him, so there was no chance," he explained.
The Fiorentina sporting director commented that they had to look for another alternative. "We didn't sign him because of the price. Then, when he went on loan to Betis at the end of August, we no longer needed him," he said.
Eventually, the Serie A club secured the services of Moise Kean from Juventus. They refused to pay 40 million euros for a player Barcelona had signed for 30 million euros fixed plus another 31 million euros in variables from Athletico Paranaense.
