Barcelona in trouble over Sergi Roberto's renewal

Sergi Roberto's future seemed to remain tied to Barcelona, but a financial problem at the club has put the captain's renewal in jeopardy. The Catalan club are not in a position to promise the player a new contract.
According to ‘Relevo’, Financial Fair Play could be a problem for Sergi Roberto's contract extension with his current club. Barcelona cannot assure him that there is salary space for him despite having one of the lowest salaries in the squad.
Moreover, according to ‘Mundo Deportivo’, Barcelona have other priorities. The board put the signings of Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Inigo Martinez and Vitor Roque ahead of him.
Sergi Roberto's will has always been to continue at the club of his life, but this turn of events means that the captain has to make a decision, i.e. wait for the financial situation to be resolved or look for a possible destination. In fact, the player's inner circle is already making moves in case the bad news is confirmed.
