The transfer window is over, but Barcelona are still not happy with the squad. According to ‘Mundo Deportivo’, the board is already working to find the missing piece, a right-back. The names on the table are Óscar Mingueza, for whom they have a buy-back option of 9 million, and Bayern's Joshua Kimmich, who they like for his versatility.

Barcelona wanted to convince Manchester City to keep Joao Cancelo. However, the player ended up leaving for Saudi Arabian football and, with him, went the hope of the Catalan giants to have his position covered.
At the Camp Nou side they consider that they are missing a key player for Hansi Flick's project. 'Mundo Deportivo' assures that the priority in the next transfer windows is to tie down a right-back in the short or medium term.
Right now, the coach is using Jules Kounde and the intention is that Hector Fort will be his substitute. But the problem is a long-standing one: since the departure of Alves, the team has not been able to find a proper right-back.
The Catalan newspaper highlights two names on the agenda of possible futures. The first one is former Barcelona player Oscar Mingueza. The 'Cules' sold him to Celta, with whom he has a contract until 2026, but they have the option to buy back their former player if they pay 9 million euros to the Vigo side.
The other option is Joshua Kimmich, who has been on the ‘Cules’ radarfor some time. Hansi Flick had him under his orders and knows what this player is capable of. What the staff value most about the Bayern player is his versatility.
Two very different players for whom, at least for the moment, Barcelona have not made a move. They have both monitored and it will have to be seen which of them they opt for, either for the winter transfer window or for the 2025-26 season.
