Barcelona released the medical reports of Frenkie de Jong and Pedri Gonzalez on their social media following their injuries in the Liga match against Athletic. The Dutchman has a sprained external lateral ligament in his right ankle and the Spaniard has an injury to his rectus femoris in his right thigh. The club has made no comment on how long either player will be out of action.

Frenkie de Jong has a sprained external lateral ligament in his right ankle and Pedri Gonzalez has an injury to the rectus femoris in his right thigh.
This is the result of the tests that Barcelona's medical services carried out on both players on Monday morning, when they arrived at the 'Cules' training complex a few hours after their injuries in La Liga game against Athletic at San Mames.
"De Jong suffers a sprain in the external lateral ligament of the right ankle" and "Pedri has an injury to the rectus femoris of the right thigh" are the words used by the Catalan giants in their statement, published on their social networks.
It is also added that "both are out and their recovery will determine their availability", so there is no specific or official deadline for Xavi Hernandez to call them up again.
Even so, it is understood that the Dutchman will be out for around a month, although it is difficult to predict this because the 'Cule' club have not even specified the extent of his sprain.
What is certain is that he will not be available for the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Napoli, just like his team-mate, with whom extreme caution must be exercised because he has already been injured several times this season. In fact, this is his eighth injury in a matter of two and a half years.
