Barcelona ready to sign, waiting for La Liga's response
FC Barcelona sold Memphis Depay to Atletico for €3 million plus add-ons. With his departure, the club are waiting for La Liga to give their say on the 'Financial Fair Play' to be able to sign. Depay is history. Barcelona announced on Friday his departure to Atletico Madrid and, as part of the deal, they announced that they got themselves an option to buy for Carrasco this summer.
Simeone's side have given then €3 million and around another €1 million in add-ons. The problem now is what the Catalan side will invest it in.
'Mundo Deportivo' claim that Barcelona are waiting for La Liga to update they 'Financial Fair Play' rules to know exactly where they stand. From the information given by the organisation presided by Javier Tebas, it depends what the club does.
Barcelona have two options: go into the transfer market or register players such as Gavi and Araujo, who have already renewed their contract, but their contracts could not be registered because of the 'Financial Fair Play' rules.
The Spanish giants are waiting for La Liga to give an answer soon. Barcelona are wanting to know if they can go straight into the market or if they have to register these players first. The solution could be resolved in the next few days. In the mean time, nothing will be done at the Camp Nou.
