Barcelona select their five captains for 2024/25 term

The 2024/25 season is already underway, but there is still some unfinished business at Barcelona. Aside from all the possible reinforcements and registrations, the Catalan side had not yet announced their captains.
Ter Stegen's name was well known as the first, as last year he was the second, but this season, with the departure of Sergi Roberto, he moved into the top spot. The rest of the nominations, all of which were voted on and agreed upon at Friday's training session, came as a bit more of a surprise.
In order, the five chosen were Ter Stegen, Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha and Pedri. For the first time in a long time, there will be no academy player as captain, something that has not happened for a long time, specifically since Luis Enrique.
Frenkie de Jong has been one of the most criticised players, especially on social media, and he will be the fourth. A player whose future has been up in the air on several occasions and, for the moment, is recovering from injury.
