Barcelona squad list for Valencia clash: Pedri back on track

Barcelona have announced their official squad list for their league opener at Mestalla. Among those called up is Pedri, who has only recently recovered and could play some minutes, although Hansi Flick has already made it clear that he will not play the full match.
"I am very happy to have him back. He will be there and will be able to play the second half," he said at the pre-match press conference. Pedri, who has not played since July due to a knee sprain suffered during Euro 2024 in Germany, is now fully recovered and hopes that this time, injuries will respect him.
Newcomer Dani Olmo is not on the list. "He is not in optimal condition. We want to look after him," said the manager. Gavi, Araujo and De Jong are also unavailable. Gundogan is another of the absentees the German coach is likely to notice.
