Barcelona host Young Boys in the second matchday of the Champions League league phase. In need of points after their first heavy defeat against Monaco in the Principality, the Blaugrana side will be looking to recover from the blow at El Sadar, where they lost in their last official match.
Still without a new goalkeeper, who seems to be arriving with Szczesny, Flick gives confidence to Inaki Pena, who will be back in the starting line-up to make up for the long-term absence of Ter Stegen. The big positive note is the return of Frenkie de Jong, who is back in the squad after several training sessions with the group. The Dutchman has not played for Barca since the ‘Clasico’ in April, five months ago.
The Azulgrana squad still has an important list of players in the infirmary. Gavi, Christensen, Araujo, Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez are all out of the squad, as well as long-term injuries such as Ter Stegen and Marc Bernal. Eric Garcia, suspended for his sending off against Monaco, will also be absent.
- Goalkeepers: Inaki Pena, Ander Astralaga and Aron Yaakobishvili.
- Defenders: Pau Cubarsi, Alex Balde, Inigo Martinez, Jules Kounde, Hector Fort, Gerard Martin, Sergi Domínguez and Andres Cuenca.
- Midfielders: Pedri, Pablo Torre, Marc Casado, Frenkie de Jong and Guillermo Fernandez.
- Forwards: Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Raphinha, Pau Victor, Lamine Yamal and Toni Fernandez.
