Last summer, Ivan Perisic left the big leagues. Tottenham Hotspur understood that it was time to facilitate his departure to the club where he formed HNK Hajduk Split after a stint of campaign of not too bright after his time at Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.
This week, he emerged as a market opportunity for Barcelona as the player is unhappy with his coach Gennaro Gattuso, who does not count on him as an undisputed starter. He has been relegated to the bench in all Conference League qualifiers.
The Croatian press reported a phone call between the player and Hansi Flick to discuss a potential move to Catalonia, but Joan Laporta's board has ruled out a transfer, according to 'Sport'.
Although he would join without a transfer fee and would take a reduced salary, his skills have not been considered by Barcelona. Even so, in the remaining two weeks of the transfer window, Barcelona have, however, set their sights on signing a winger who can play on the left flank.
