Clement Lenglet's days at Barça are numbered. So far this pre-season, the centre-back has not played a single minute, more than evident proof that Xavi does not count on him for the 2023-24 season. The club are looking for him to leave and, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', could send him to Saudi Arabia.
The Catalan giants are reportedly negotiating his move to Al Nassr, where he would join Cristiano Ronaldo or Marcelo Brozovich. The club do not expect to make a lot of money from his sale, but at least they will save on his high salary, which will help them to free up their wage bill.
The Catalan newspaper does not give details of the offer from Al Nassr, although Saudi Arabia have been making it clear all summer that they are not short of millions. Lenglet could have a huge salary.
But for this operation to go ahead, the Frenchman's green light is crucial. Perhaps the fee that Al Nassr can offer him will be the key to him agreeing to try out in this league that is attracting so many stars.
