Pedri is recovering and preparing to play again after 40 days out injured. The player is expected to remain sidelined for Barcelona's La Liga opener against Valencia, but he will be ready to make his comeback for the next game in the domestic league against Athletic. Everything will depend on his evolution.

Midfielder Pedri is progressing favourably in his recovery and on Tuesday Barcelona reported that the player completed part of the morning training session with the rest of the squad, his first participation in a session with Hansi Flick and of the 2024/25 campaign.
Returning to work with the group at the Joan Gamper training complex is the first step towards Pedri's return to action after suffering a sprained left knee following a hard tackle from Toni Kroos in the opening minutes of the Euro 2024 quarter-final against Germany.
The Spaniard, who missed the rest of the tournament and pre-season with Barcelona, has been injured for 40 days and has accumulated a total of 158 days since 24 August 2023 due to various physical problems.
Since his arrival at the Catalan side in the 2021/22 season, only his first campaign was injury-free. After playing more than 70 games that season, in which he also played in the European Championship and the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Pedri has suffered injuries every season and has missed an average of 28 games per season.
The midfielder will remain sidelined for Barcelona's league opener against Valencia on Saturday 17 August, although he could be fit for the game against Athletic a week later if his injury progresses well and he can take part in more group sessions.
