With this year's summer transfer window now closed, the Barcelona president discussed the current issues concerning the Catalan club. The different ways of the financial situation of the team, the sporting plan that Deco has followed to reinforce the squad, the possible negotiations with Nico Williams and many other debates.
"I want them to know that we are stronger than ever, that we are more determined than ever. We want to complete Barcelona's recovery in all aspects. They want to give us a lot of lessons, but few realise that what we are talking about is saving the team. We are proud to be able to get the club back on its feet without putting the future of the club at risk," he began.
Regarding possible negotiations to sign Nico Williams in the future, he said: "I can't talk about players who are not ours out of respect for Athletic. I'm not going to comment on that."
The Barcelona president also wanted to talk about their current relationship with arch-rivals Real Madrid and make his position clear. "Relations with Real Madrid are not good, they have been involved in the Negreira case and it is unacceptable. I don't know how many lawsuits with journalists we already have. About twenty. Let them follow what they consider, we will do the same," he claimed.
