Bayern aim to renew Davies amid Madrid interest
Bayern Munich unveiled Hiroki Ito as a new signing on Tuesday morning, with Christoph Freund holding a press conference. Journalists took the opportunity to ask him how negotiations are going to renew the contract of Alphonso Davies, who is being targeted by Real Madrid, and he replied that talks had taken place and "the door is definitely not closed" although there is still no agreement with him.

Bayern Munich sporting director Cristoph Freund assured that the Bavarian club have "held talks" with Canadian full-back Alphonso Davies, but that these have "not yet led to an agreement".
Freund said at the presentation of Japan's Hiroki Ito that the winger, who has just played in the Copa America with Canada and is on Real Madrid's radar, will "take his well-deserved holiday" and will clarify his situation at a later date.
"The most important thing is that he prepares very well, gets off to a good start and then we'll see. In the last few months, Alphonso has become an absolutely key player and he has done very well. He's in the last year of his contract now, but then we'll see how the talks go. The door is definitely not closed," he concluded.
