Bayern boss Kompany hopeful Kane will bounce back for Villa showdown
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said it was "too early" to know the extent of Harry Kane's injury but he was hopeful the forward will be fit for Wednesday's Champions League clash at Aston Villa.

"I don't have the exact information but hopefully it's just a bit of pain and we'll get him back this week," said Kompany. Speaking after the England captain was subbed off with four minutes left in Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Bayer Leverkusen, Kompany said he hoped Kane would make a swift return.
"Hopefully not," Kompany said when asked if Kane's injury was serious. I'm not a doctor and it's much too early. I know something happened, but I hope he's ready for Wednesday."
Kane went down clutching his foot after a collision with Leverkusen's Amine Adli. The England captain has a history of ankle complaints but has only missed two matches for Bayern with injury since arriving in the summer of 2023.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said he was unsure about Kane's injury status, but added "when Harry leaves the field means something because he's pretty tough". "(The incident) doesn't look good, but we hope he's made strong out of good English wood and nothing's broken."
Kane did not have a shot on target in the match but has been in strong form so far for Bayern this season. The 31-year-old has 10 goals in seven games in all competitions, including hitting four in Bayern's Champions League opener against Dinamo Zagreb.
