Bayern Munich's Portuguese international midfielder Palinha suffered an injury while training with his national team and will be out for the next few weeks, the Bavarian club said on Tuesday.
Palinha, 29, one of the stars of the team coached by Vincent Kompany, suffers a muscle tear in the abductor muscle of his right leg, according to the Munich club, whose medical services examined the player.
According to the newspaper ‘Bild’, this injury will keep Palinha off the pitch until 2025, as his team's last game this year takes place on 20th December, when the Bavarians will play RB Leipzig. For the newspaper, that date is outside the scope of the recovery period needed by the player.
The former Cottagers player had made 13 appearances for the Bavarian side so far this season, six of which were starts. It remains to be seen whether Palhinha will return to the same importance in the squad when he makes his return in January.
