David Beckham was one of the people most involved in getting Leo Messi to sign for Inter Miami. The club president showed his joy at having the Argentinian superstar in his team and in the MLS.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player looked to the past as he began his message: "The next chapter of our story begins here. 10 years ago when I began my journey to build a new team in Miami, I said that I dreamed of bringing the best players in the world to this incredible city."
"Players who would share the same ambition I had when I arrived at LA Galaxy, to make football grow in the United States and to build a legacy in this sport that we all love so much. Today that dream has become reality", declared the former England international.
Beckham, who also posted a video to Instagram dedicated to Messi wrote, "I couldn't be prouder that a player of Leo’s calibre is joining our club but I’m also delighted to welcome a friend, an amazing person and his beautiful family to join our Miami family".
