Real Madrid have been handed an unanticipated setback in their clash against Osasuna. 'Los Blancos', who opened the scoring through Mbappe within the first quarter of the game, found themselves with a sudden blow as Jude Bellingham was sent off with six minutes remaining in the first period.
The Englishman was very surprised when the referee showed him a straight red card, with his teammates immediately circling the officiate to protest the decision. Referee Munuera Montero called Real Madrid captain Modric to the side to explain what had happened.
The ‘DAZN’ cameras captured an extract of the seconds leading up to the sending-off. It all started just after a foul in favour of Osasuna that ended in a goal kick for Carlo Ancelotti's side at the Estadio El Sadar in Pamplona.
Modric himself had a dialogue with the referee and was approached by Bellingham, who was complaining to the referee. The officiate responded as he told the former Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund man to ‘calm down’. The game was then stopped and the referee showed him the red card.
