Former Manchester United and England player Paul Parker believes Ben White's refusal to play for England shows a lack of respect towards the national team and its staff.

With the international fixtures currently taking place, ex-Manchester United and England player Paul Parker, has joined reporter Gianluca Di Marzio for an interview, giving his own take on the Ben White situation. The Arsenal defender continues to refuse England call-ups, despite the departures of Gareth Southgate and assistant manager Steve Holland - who's comments on White are the alleged reason for the player's self-imposed exile from the national team.
"By leaving the camp White has shown a lack of respect for his national team," says Parker. "There are rumours going around saying that someone may has attacked him or his family... But Ben gave up on his country at a time where he was growing as a full-back. I don't see why someone should go out of their way to reintergrate him into the squad, and promise him playing time. It would be disrespectful to the former staff," he adds.
The former player recognises the quality of the Arsenal star, however, equally points to other players, which could make up for White's absence. "There are many full-backs, like Rico Lewis, who are performing very well," he indicates.
That said, he does not completely shut down the 26-year-old's chances for an international comeback "should his performances be solid... but only because a new manager is now in charge". As of now, Ben White sits on four caps with England.
