Injured from February until the end of October 2023 because of a cruciate ligament rupture, Tottenham will once again be without Rodrigo Bentancur after he suffered a relapse on Sunday against Aston Villa following a foul by Matty Cash.
The Uruguay international tore the ligaments in his ankle and has been ruled out for two-and-a-half months, which would keep him out of action until February 2024.
The 26-year-old was playing in only his fourth game for Spurs since his return, and his first ever start for Ange Postecoglou. Unfortunately for the former Juventus player, he has yet again been dealt a blow.
The Uruguayan striker has played 48 games for the London club, 41 of them as a starter, scoring six goals and providing six assists.
