Carlo Ancelotti has to complete his squad for the game against Rayo Vallecano and it looks like he will have two absentees. Benzema and Rudiger did not train on Saturday and neither did they train 24 hours before the clash against Rayo.
Benzema has once again taken a step backwards due to his poor form. The Real Madrid captain is set to be out again after making his comeback by playing the last 28 minutes of the Champions League match against Celtic at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The French striker played for the final 28 minutes after missing three consecutive Real Madrid matches. Carlo Ancelotti's team scored five goals to confirm their place at the top of the group and a place in the last 16 already assured two matchdays earlier.
Since then, Benzema has not returned to training with his teammates and, with the World Cup approaching, he will be out again in La Liga, in which he has already missed five games.
The German defender Rudiger is also absent due to a hip injury that prevented him from taking the field on Sunday. Tchouameni and Eden Hazard, who have recovered from their injuries, trained with the rest of the squad.
Ancelotti managed a gentle training session in which he completed the starting line-up for Rayo clash, where he will be able to bring back Tchouameni. The Madrid coach must decide whether to keep Marco Asensio in the starting line-up, with Rodrygo as a nine, or move Fede Valverde forward.
