Bad luck continues to hit the French national team. The latest to join a long list of injured players is Karim Benzema, who will miss only his second World Cup ever.
The Frenchman has been unlucky for quite some time. On 3rd November he had to withdraw from the Champions League match between Real Madrid and Celtic.
On that occasion, Benzema suffered a fibrillar rupture in his right leg that has caused him to miss several matches with the club and when he has reappeared, he has done so with obvious signs of pain.
Very soon the supposed speculation that Benzema was resting for the World Cup came to light. But the reality was very different and the discomfort did not go away.
To make matters worse, during the training camp with France, he did not find his best form. So much so that, when he returned to training with his team-mates, Benzema again injured his left rectus abdominis, this time in his left leg.
According to 'Tiempo de Juego' on 'Cadena COPE' after the first tests the Frenchman underwent, the striker could be sidelined for a total of three weeks.
Benzema is already in Madrid and will begin the recovery process as soon as possible. Undoubtedly, a hard blow for the French footballer's motivation, who had high hopes for the World Cup in one of his best seasons as a professional sportsman.
