Besiktas terminates Emirhan Delibas' contract for using dating app

Emirhan Delibas was facing a peaceful season this year. After a loan spell at Goztepe, where he hardly got on the pitch, he was part of the list of substitutes for Besiktas, the club where he grew up. In between training, he has been making use of a dating app, Bumble, to fuel his personal life. He is just 21 years old and appears to still be without a steady partner.
It turns out that this has led to his dismissal from the Turkish club, which announced on Monday that it has decided to terminate their contract. The club did not directly allude to the fact that the reason for his dismissal is that he is using an app to meet girls - or boys - but, given the conservative stance of the management, this is what the press, fans and, in general, the football world have understood.
"Information from our club: we have parted ways with the player Emirhan Delibas by mutual agreement. We wish Emirhan success in the future throughout his career and thank him in public," reads the text published by the club on its social networks. Fans were quick to share screenshots of the youngster's account on the social network, which has now led to him having to look for another destination.
Delibas describes himself in his profile as a sporty guy, 6'3" tall, who never smokes and only drinks occasionally, when he goes out with his friends. He also admits to looking for casual encounters. He lists football, horror movies, rock as his favourite music genre, winter sports and dogs on his list of interests. He also attaches his personal Instagram and, in the photo at the top of this page, he is wearing a Besiktas shirt and holding a cup in front of a toilet.
