'I news' has reported that Turkish side Besiktas are set to make a proposal to Manchester United, offering a six-month loan contract for disgraced striker Mason Greenwood. The outlet cites an "insider", who says that the loan will test the waters of Greenwood's public image, as he can always be returned following the loan.

According to 'I news', Turkish club Besiktas will approach Manchester United with an offer to take Mason Greenwood off their hands with a six-month loan.
Charges of attempted rape and assault among other were brought against the striker, and subsequently dropped, but following an internal United investigation, the club released a statement saying that the 21-year-old would not play again at Old Trafford.
He has not been left in limbo for long however, as already the Turkish club have appeared as the frontrunners to offer him a place. The outlet quotes an "insider" who believes that should he be met well in Turkey by the public, a permanent move could be on the table.
“Of course they have seen what has been said in the UK and further afield,” began the source. "People think that Turkey is an easy way out for Greenwood, as he will just be able to get on with his career away from the public eye. But clubs know that is not how it works. Reporters will come from England to follow his progress wherever he goes, we are sure of that".
“A short loan is appealing, though. If things go wrong, he will return to Manchester quickly. If he comes to Istanbul and scores goals straight away, the boos will quickly go", he continued. "That is just the way that football works, however bad a taste that leaves. I think Turkish fans will accept him.”
Despite the interest reported from Turkey, most other clubs have quickly distanced themselves, with Al-Ettifaq coach Steven Gerrard dismissing rumours his Saudi Pro-League side would sign Greenwood, labelling them as "fake news".
