Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has provided insight into his strategic vision for the club, suggesting that while the Europa League is an important competition, it is not the sole focus.
"People are looking at the Europa League as the unique competition that we can win, also the connection with qualifying for the UCL," Amorim noted, but he quickly added, "But to tell you the truth, I think we have bigger things to think".
This approach reflects the Portuguese coach's commitment to building a sustainable base at Old Trafford, prioritising long-term success.
Amorim's words highlight his difficult role, balancing immediate expectations with the need to develop a strong and competitive team for the future.
The former Sporting boss is aware of the challenges facing United, such as their inconsistent form in the Premier League and the need to improve their performances against top-level opposition.
Amorim's goals extend beyond this season's performance, but the Europa League is still an important competition for United because it provides a path back to the Champions League.
