Bobby Charlton mural painted over Ronaldo mural near Old Trafford

A pub in Manchester, near Old Trafford, has erased the mural of Cristiano Ronaldo to paint over one of Bobby Charlton, who died on 21st October.
This tribute, which was made by Graffiti Painters, took place in the same week as Charlton's funeral, which brought thousands of people into the streets of Manchester for a procession that carried the legend's coffin from Old Trafford to the city's cathedral, where the funeral took place.
The pub, called The Trafford Pub, used to have a mural of Cristiano Ronaldo on one of its exterior walls but has been replaced by a black and white mural of Charlton.
The Englishman made 758 appearances for the Red Devils and scored more than 200 goals, as well as winning three English league titles, a European Cup and an FA Cup. He won the 1966 World Cup with England. Charlton, who died as a result of a fall, had been suffering from dementia since 2020.
