Bookies Slash Man City's Champions League Odds After RB Leipzig Draw
Manchester City were already strong favourites to win the UEFA Champions League before Monday’s round of 16 draw in Nyon but their odds are even shorter now that they have been paired with RB Leipzig in the first knockout phase.

Bettors could have got 2/1 on Pep Guardiola’s men pre-draw, but that price has been cut to 13/8 as they avoided Paris Saint-Germain, who will face Bayern Munich in a bumper clash.
Two of the other main contenders, Liverpool and Real Madrid, will face one another, so there will be several heavy hitters eliminated from the competition in February.
The four clubs involved in those two ties that are difficult to call have all seen their odds drift in the outright winner market.
Bayern are out to 15/2 on Unibet, who had the German club at 11/2 last week. PSG are now 8/1 having been 6/1 beforehand.
Liverpool, previously a 7/1 shot, are now 9/1 across the board, while their opponents Real Madrid are a perhaps tempting 14/1 now on Unibet - a big jump from 11/1.
Napoli have gone from dark horses to now being considered a serious challenger. Some betting sites have cut their odds to 10/1, which is remarkable given the 175/1 that was available on the Italian side back in August.
That is largely down to their impressive form both domestically and in Europe, but also because of the fact that they will play Eintracht Frankfurt in the last 16.
At 12/1, Chelsea are around the same price that they were when the market opened. Borussia Dortmund stand between the Blues and a spot in the quarter-finals, and while the Bundesliga side can be backed at 13/8 to upset Chelsea, they remain a long shot at 50/1 to win the tournament.
Tottenham Hotspur’s group stage triumph was far from routine, but having made it through, they are now priced at 16/1 to go one better than their Champions League final appearance in 2019.
Spurs are 1/2 to reach the last eight at the expense of AC Milan, who are still 50/1 with most firms to add to their seven European Cups.
The dark horse baton has been passed from Napoli to Benfica, who received a favourable draw in the shape of Club Brugge. Both Coral and Ladbrokes had the Portuguese outfit at 250/1 before a ball was kicked this term, but they are now offering 16/1 on the team from Lisbon.
If you claim either of their bookmaker sign up offers, you will still be able to get excellent value on Champions League markets.
Meanwhile, in the Europa League, Arsenal are the standalone favourites at 4/1, but Barcelona are only marginally behind them at 9/2 despite being drawn against Manchester United in the knockout playoff.
United are at 8/1, while Champions League dropouts Juventus and Ajax can both be wagered on at 12/1.
