Brahim leads Morocco's squad for World Cup qualifiers

Moroccan coach Walid Regragui has unveiled the squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Zambia and Congo Brazzaville. Real Madrid's Brahim Diaz returns to lead the ‘Lions of Atlas’. Among the players selected by the Moroccan coach are several players from the Spanish League: En-Nesyri, Chadi Riad and Abdelkabir Abqar.

Morocco coach Walid Regragui has named Real Madrid striker Brahim Diaz, Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri, Deportivo Alaves defender Abdelkabir Abqar and Real Betis's Chadi Riad in the squad for the matches against Zambia and Congo Brazzaville on 7th and 11th June.
These players are part of a list of 27 players that the Moroccan coach announced on the Moroccan national team's website, for the matches against Zambia (in the Moroccan city of Agadir) and Congo Barzzaville (in Kinshasa) for the third and fourth matchdays of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Also among those called up are Sofyan Amrabat of Manchester United, Yassin Bono of Al Hilal, and Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain.
Goalkeepers: Yassin Bono (Al Hilal), Munir El Kajoui (Al Wehda) y El Mehdi Benabid (AS FAR).
Defenders: Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Mohamed Chibi (Pyramids FC), Abdelkabir Abqar (Deportivo Alavés), Achraf Dari (Sporting de Charleroi), Nayef Aguerd (West Ham), Ghanem Saïss (Al-Shabab), Chadi Riad (Betis), Yahia Attiat Allah, (FK Sochi), Noussair Mazraoui (Bayern Munich).
Midfielders: Sofyan Amrabat (Manchester United), Oussama El Azzouzi (Bologna FC), Bilal El Khannouss (KRC Genk), Brahim Díaz (Real Madrid), Ismael Saibari (PSV Eindhoven), Oussama Targhalline (Le Havre), Amir Richardson (Stade de Reims), Azzedine Ounahi (Olympique de Marsella).
Forwards: Hakim Ziyech (Galatasaray), Ilias Akhomash (Villarreal), Ayoub El Kaabi (Olympiakos), Youssef En-Nesyri (Sevilla), Soufiane Rahimi (Al-AIn FC), Amine Adli (Bayer Leverkusen), Eliesse Ben Seghir (AS Monaco).
