Manchester United are expected to reshape their squad in the summer transfer window following the arrival of the club's new co-owner Jim Ratcliffe at Old Trafford.
In defence, the Red Devils are set to sign a centre-back as a priority due to the injury problems they have suffered last campaign. In fact, they are on the verge of completing the transfer of Leny Yoro from Ligue 1 side Lille for 62 million euros after an intense race for his services with Real Madrid.
But the French defender was not their top priority in this transfer window as players such as Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite were good contenders to move to Manchester. However, the Everton star is increasingly unlikely to join the Red Devils.
"I think for me it's just about taking what I learned from last season, and the season before, and putting it all together. I think last season, playing all the games I did helped me put performances in and get the experience I needed," Branthwaite told Everton's press.
"And it’s the way the manager has us set up to give us the best possible chance to win games, and to pick up as many points as we can. I think it’ll be the same again this season," he concluded.
The Toffees rejected two bids made by United a few months ago as they regard the 22-year-old as a key player and do not plan to sell him at any price.
