Julen Lopetegui ended his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2023 and has not been in charge of a club since. In recent days he has been linked with a number of top European clubs.
AC Milan were the main contenders to secure the Spaniard's services, among other clubs who have shown interest in Lopetegui. However, the Italian club's fans showed their rejection of the Spanish manager on social media.
As a result, the 57-year-old has decided to try his luck in a league he is already familiar with. According to reports in England, Lopetegui has agreed a deal with West Ham to replace David Moyes for the 2024/25 campaign.
Both parties will meet in the coming weeks to try to finalise the details of his contract. Nevertheless, nothing is certain yet at the London Stadium.
Moyes, whose team conceded five goals for a second successive away league game following their loss at Crystal Palace, is set to hold talks with the board over his future at the end of the season.
