Manchester United have finally made a decision regarding the allegations of abuse against Antony by his ex-partner.
The Red Devils have issued a statement saying that the players who have been away on international duty will return to training on Monday, with the exception of the former Ajax player.
The Glazers family-owned club stated that the Brazilian winger "will delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegations".
"As a club we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse," reads the statement.
The Red Devils winger also posted an Instagram story in which he said that this decision had been taken together with the club and that he would defend his innocence.
""I have agreed with Man Utd to take a period of absence while the allegations against me are being addressed. It has been a mutual decision to avoid distraction to my teammates and unnecessary controversy for the club. I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I am accused of, and I will co-operate fully with the police to help them get to the truth. I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible.
