Bundesliga season 24/25 kicks off with Xhaka thunderbolt

Starting a season with a great goal gives a small taste of how the season can go. After a perfect year, Bayer Leverkusen took the lead against Borussia Monchengladbach with a wonder-strike from Xhaka.
Barely 12 minutes into the 2024/25 Bundesliga season had elapsed. The league champions were facing Borussia Monchengladbach away and took an early lead.
Granit Xhaka did it the way he does best, coming from the back. It all started on the right, Frimpong's cross crashing into the Gladbach defence.
The ball was left loose beyond the edge of the box, where Xhaka calmly arrived to unleash a superb shot that cleared the cobwebs from the goal defended by Jonas Omlin, who could do nothing.
