Chelsea have seen a second bid for Brighton's Moises Caicedo turned down by the Seagulls. The improved bid, believed to be £70 million, was submitted on Monday and quickly rejected, following their initial offer of £60 million.
De Zerbi's side are reportedly looking for a fee closer to Declan Rice's recent move to Arsenal, which saw West Ham get £100 million. However, the Blues do not know whether they will offer such an amount.
Marc Cucurella, who shared a dressing room with the Ecuadorian, was asked about Caicedo's alleged arrival at Stamford Bridge. The Spanish defender told a press conference that his former teammate wants to play in a Chelsea shirt next season.
"I think he wants to come here, I’ve read in the media a lot of times. For me, I have a really good relationship with him because we played together at Brighton. He's a top player, a good midfielder, if he came here I think we'd have a top midfielder for a long time," he told reporters.
