Cavani criticised for taking photos with River fans
Edinson Cavani did not play his best game in the Argentinian 'Superclasico' against River Plate and was the first substitute of his team in the 66th minute of the match. At the end of the match, he decided to stop to take a photo with some River Plate fans and this did not go down well with the 'bosteros' fans.

Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani made his first start in a River Plate-Boca Junior match but did not play his best game. In fact, he was the first substitution for the visitors in the 66th minute and was criticised for standing outside the stadium to take a photo with some River fans.
Criticism was also levelled at the player's poor performance on the pitch, who could not get a shot on goal in the minutes he was on the pitch. Cavani has gone 557 minutes without a goal and his last goal was on 16 October 2023 against Talleres in the Copa Argentina.
The striker is not going through his best period as a player at Boca. He has only played 4 games this season but has yet to score a goal or provide an assist. On the other hand, last season he scored just 3 goals in 16 games.
But it is not only the player who has been criticised, some River fans have also complained that these fans wanted to have their photo taken with the Uruguayan. The 'Superclasico' is a duel of maximum rivalry and this type of sporting gesture is not something to the liking of those who live these matches with an excess of passion.
