UEFA announced on Sunday its ideal starting XI side, chosen by a panel of specialists selected last season from the Champions League. City's Rodri Hernandez was chosen as the competition's MVP.
The season ended with Manchester City claiming the title. After all the games of the thrilling tournament had been played, UEFA put up its ideal lineup. Champions Man City took centre stage, with seven of their players making the squad.

Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid)
The Belgian keeper returns once again to this prestigious lineup, after being voted 'MVP' of the final last season, and the hero of Madrid's 14th UCL title win. Despite the fact that Real Madrid did not manage to defend their title, Courtois showed himself once again to be a top-level keeper.
Kyle Walker (Manchester City)
Walker, one of City's defenders, has had a brilliant Champions League campaign, standing out for his experience and his great physical presence. The English international shone especially in the semifinals against Madrid, where he managed to keep Vinicius locked down.
Ruben Dias (Manchester City)
Another City defender makes it onto the ideal lineup. Dias provided his team, which has previously struggled in defense at important moments, with a crucial sense of stability. Since the Portuguese centre-back arrived in Manchester, he has won three consecutive Premier League titles and under the orders of Pep Guardiola this season, bagged the treble with his side.
Alessandro Bastoni (Inter Milan)
Just 24 years old, Alessandro Bastoni has shown himself to be one the best midfielders in Italy. Inter's defender has played a remarkable UCL campaign this year, and he will likely go on to do great things with his Italian side, and beyond.
Federico Dimarco (Inter Milan)
Dimarco, the 'Nerazurri' left-back has performed extraordinarily well, not only in Serie A, but also on Europe's biggest stage. The Italian was one of the competitions best assisters, providing his team with five.
John Stones (Manchester City)
Stones has become one of this year's greatest UCL discoveries. Despite normally being found in the defensive line, the English international has begun to play incredibly well in midfield, taking on a spot more like a '5'.
Rodri Hernandez (Manchester City)
The Spain international was crucial in the Champions League final against Inter as his opener gave Manchester City their first trophy in Europe's biggest competition. Rodri has been named as the 2022-23 Champions League player of the season.

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
The Belgian had to be substituted in the 36th minute of the final in Istanbul due to a hamstring injury. De Bruyne was not in his best form on Saturday but has had superb performances in the Champions League this season. Along with Dimarco, he has been the player who has provided the most assists this campaign.
Bernardo Silva (Manchester City)
Pep Guardiola has known how to exploit the Portuguese's full potential both in European competition and in the Premier League. Silva has scored three goals and provided one assist in 13 appearances. He has become a top player.
Vinicius (Real Madrid)
The Brazilian has managed to improve his performances thanks to Carlo Ancelotti's faith in him. Vinicius has shown his incredible skills this season.
Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
The Norwegian was signed by the Sky Blues to lift the first Champions League trophy. His purpose has already been fulfilled. Haaland has become the top goalscorer of the season after scoring 12 goals in the Champions League.
The best young player was Napoli striker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (22 years old). The Georgian has been one of this season's surprise packages in both the Champions League and Serie A.
