It was a tough battle at the Bridge as Pep Guardiola's former assistants faced off for the first time in their managerial careers. Arsenal thought they had opened the scoring at 32nd minute after a free kick taken quickly from the Gunners, but the goal was quickly ruled out following VAR intervention as the German forward was offside. Arteta had to wait until the 60th minute to see his side take the lead, as Gabriel Martinelli tucked in a wonderful pass from skipper Martin Odegaard, who made his return to the starting XI after two months on the sidelines due to injury. Nevertheless, Chelsea found the equaliser ten minutes later as Pedro Neto struck from long-range, netting the ball where Raya could not reach. Havertz had the chance to seal the win for the Gunners with the last kick of the game, but the game stayed at 1-1 regardless. Following the win, Cheslea and Arsenal remain 5th and 6th respectively. Though they are level on points, the Blues are ahead due to a better goal difference.
