Wesley Fofana has pulled out of the France national team squad ahead of their upcoming games in the Nations League during the November international break due to fitness concerns.
"Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has withdrawn from the France squad ahead of their UEFA Nations League fixtures against Israel and Italy," the Blues confirmed on Tuesday.
The French Football Federation (FFF) released a statement on Monday revealing that the defender was ‘experiencing pain in his left knee’ following the clash against Arsenal in the Premier League.
Fofana will therefore stay in London as Chelsea do not want to take any risk with the Frenchman. Christopher Nkunku is the only other Chelsea player in Didier Deschamps’ squad, as Les Bleus’ prepare for their first game against on Thursday.
