Chelsea finalising details of Maresca deal

Enzo Maresca will be Chelsea's new manager if nothing unexpected happens, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Italian has won promotion to the Premier League with Leicester City this season.
Contacts between club and manager have been positive and the deal is close to being finalised, with a few details still to be worked out. In addition to the agreement between Chelsea and Maresca, the Blues will have to agree a fee with the Foxes in order to release the Italian and his staff.
Maresca has faith in the London outfit's project, which is based around young players, and it is his desire to sit on the touchline at Stamford Bridge. For its part, the Blues are confident that the Italian can be the man of the present and the future. His obsession with possession, quality football, mastery of the game and knowledge of elite football are some of the qualities they value most in the coach.
If the signing is confirmed, Chelsea would be the fourth team Maresca joins in England. The Italian had his first British experience as assistant manager to Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham United in the 2018-19 season.
