Former Real Madrid and Chelsea player Eden Hazard will play in a friendly match organised by UNICEF on Sunday 9 June at Stamford Bridge. The Belgian explained in 'Standard' that, although he no longer plays regularly, he does play sports to keep fit.
"I play tennis, padel, run a bit, I play football with my friends and stay active. I don't want to look like Peppa Pig!," said Hazard.
On the friendly in question, he pointed out that although it is not an official match, when he plays he always wants to win. "I saw the team and it's a pretty good one, with some of my former teammates and good friends, so let's have fun, score goals and make the fans happy," he said.
On another note, he alluded to his past and assured that he has no regrets about playing for Real Madrid. "It was my dream, even if the story wasn't so good because of injuries and all that. When I look back and see some photos of me in the white shirt, it makes me proud," he added.
On his time at Chelsea, he recalled that he spent "seven years there" and said it was "the best memory of his football career". "My best season was the second one with Jose Mourinho, when we won the Premier League and the League Cup. The coach was 'The Special One' and it is very difficult to explain the feelings after the games with the fans," he recalled.
As for his future, he ruled out coaching professionally, although he does not rule out coaching amateur teams. "I think I can coach youth teams. I have children and I want to teach them to play football."
