Chelsea make formal contact with Pochettino

Luis Enrique won't be the next Chelsea manager. The ex-Spain coach was ruled out as a possible replacement and there are now three names being considered by the Chelsea board: Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino and Ruben Amorim.
The favourite to take the reins of the Chelsea is ex-Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, but the Stamford Bridge side have other alternatives for the future. According to Fabrizio Romano, the club have formally got in touch with Mauricio Pochettino.
Last summer, the Argentine was on the list of those who could have taken charge of the rudder. Almost a year later, Chelsea have got back in touch with him with eyes on the future.
Despite Nagelsmann being the board's preferred man for the job, Chelsea aren't going to close any door. Romano claims that more meetings between Pochettino and Chelsea are expected to take place.
The Blues need to be 100% sure that they will have chosen the right manager. Pochettino, despite not being first on their list, would fit the role well and the board like his style.
