Cole Palmer scored an equaliser in the Euro 2024 final against Spain but neither his nor his team's efforts were enough to give England the trophy. The 22-year-old played throughout the tournament in Germany as a substitute despite his superb campaign with Chelsea.
The English midfielder netted 25 goals and provided 15 assists in 45 competitive games for the Blues last season after leaving Manchester City in search of playing time and opportunities.
Palmer left the Ettihad Stadium for 42 million pounds and a contract until 2030. However, that tie-up does not seem to be enough for Chelsea. According to reports in England, the Stamford Bridge board want him to stay at the club for much longer.
They are close to offering Palmer a lucrative new contract to stay with Enzo Maresca for up to ten more years. The Englishman seems to be happy at the London club and is likely to accept the new deal to become the team's new star.
