After a tough first season, Mauricio Pochettino has been surrounded by rumours of a possible exit throughout the campaign. Despite being unlucky with injuries the Argentine manager managed to qualify the team for European competition, pending the FA Cup final which will finally decide whether they will play in the Europa League or Conference League.
Fabrizio Romano has spoken about the Blues' managerial situation and the future move that could be made by Stamford Bridge bosses should the former Spurs boss not continue.
“Mauricio Pochettino is waiting to have direct contact with Chelsea. It’s not an easy situation because there are multiple directors. This is to make sure both parties are happy, and Pochettino wants to continue."
“The current idea is to have a discussion with Mauricio Pochettino and understand if they can continue together. This is still the priority to continue with Pochettino, but if they can’t keep an eye on young coaches. If Chelsea and Pochettino parts ways they will go for a young coach!”
'The Guardian' recently reported that Todd Boehly's club had shown an interest in newly-promoted Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna, although this is only a possibility as the American businessman has praised the change that has taken place under the leadership of Pochettino in recent matchdays.
