Despite being named Chelsea's captain this season, the Blues youngster could face the same fate as other academy players and could be sold even though the club have already turned down bids of £40m for him.

Chelsea seem to have changed their mind about Conor Gallagher's status in the squad. The Blues are preparing to consider bids for the England player in the January transfer window to raise money to reinforce other positions in the squad.
The England international still has 18 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and has yet to be offered a new formal deal for a contract extension, so he could be one of the club's first departures.
Gallagher has started whenever he has been fit for Mauricio Pochettino's side. The young midfielder has always ignored speculation and has earned his place in the starting eleven, being promoted as the Blues' captain.
But now with the January transfer window approaching, the manager is looking to reinforce several positions such as in defence where he has to cope with the loss of Reece James through injury and up front where he wants Nigerian Osimhen from Napoli.
The 23-year-old Gallagher is one of the Blue's most valuable assets and being a home-grown player, any offer to Todd Boehly's side would be a welcome gain, although it would mean the loss of a great talent who has been a key player for Chelsea this season.
