Palmeiras player Estevao Willian will join Chelsea, as reported by ‘ Relevo’. But, according to ‘AS’, the transfer price will be higher than initially expected. The Stamford Bridge side will pay around 65 million euros for the Brazilian's services. The Blues will pay a fixed fee of 45 'kilos', to which they will add another 20 in the form of variables.
The media reports that the deal could be completed this week following a considerable speeding up of negotiations. Stamford Bridge believe he is ‘a generational talent’ worth making the effort for.
Estevao will join Chelsea when he reaches the age of majority, i.e. in the summer of 2025. The Brazilian will also sign for seven seasons with the Londoners, with a further season as an option.
Furthermore, when the transfer is confirmed, ‘Messinho’ will become the most expensive sale in the history of South America. The London club will seal a deal that will surpass others such as those of Vitor Roque (30+31) and Neymar (30+33) by FC Barcelona and that of Encrick (30+30) carried out by Real Madrid.
On another note, Chelsea have recently turned to the Brazilian market. The Blues have signed Andrey Santos, Deivid Wahington and Angelo in the last two years. The idea of the English is to adopt the formula that Real Madrid have followed with Vinicius and Rodrygo.
Messinho is one of the gems of South American football and Chelsea have overtaken the likes of PSG, Real Madrid and Barca to secure his transfer. He will still have one more season to develop at Palmeiras and then he will have to prove his quality at Stamford Bridge.
