Chelsea win the inaugural Premier League Summer Series
Chelsea's 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday night saw them win the first Premier League Summer Series tournament. The competition, featuring six top flight sides, was played across the USA in July 2023 and allowed teams to play a series of friendly pre-season matches before beginning their 2023-24 campaigns in August.

Chelsea secured themselves the first ever Premier League Summer Series trophy with a win over Fulham on Sunday night. The tournament featured six teams from the English top flight, and was played across eight days in July.
The Blues beat their west London rivals thanks to goals from veteran Thiago Silva and new arrival Christopher Nkunku, who in his first four appearances for his new club has scored three times.
The other teams in the pre-season tournament were Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brighton, Fulham and Brentford. The Villans came in second and the Geordies completed the top three.
The Blues appear to have begun well under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, also beating League 2 side Wrexham in a convincing 5-0 hammering. Their final friendly - before they play their opening Premier League match against Liverpool - will be against Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund, who beat Manchester United 3-2 on Sunday night as well.
