The Spanish national team will face Norway in the EURO 2024 qualifiers but Solbakken's team will be without Erling Haaland as he has left the training camp due to injury.
"We hoped that this was just an injury that would carry over to Saturday, but after doing tests and examinations yesterday it became clear that he will not make it to the games against Spain and Georgia," Norwegian national team doctor Ola Sand said.
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who plays for Spain, spoke about the Norwegian striker at a press conference. Both players know each other because they play in the Premier League.
"Haaland is a difference maker in the Premier League and in the Champions League. He is capable of scoring a lot of goals. It's better for us that he doesn't play against Spain," he said.
"However, we will try to focus on the whole team as they also have other great players like Martin Odegaard," Kepa concluded.
