Following Man City's 8-0 demolition of League Two side Salford in the third round of the FA Cup, Pep Guardiola revealed that Kyle Walker had asked to be let go by the club. "Two days ago Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad and end his career," Guardiola told reporters on Saturday.
Less than a day from the news and the defender already has a couple of suitors after him. According to Fabrizio Romano AC Milan and clubs from Saudi Arabia are interested in the Man City captain, with the 'Rossoneri' reportedly leading the race as talks are already underway with the player.
The Italian transfer expert has informed that Sergio Conceicao's Milan have jumped at the opportunity to sign Walker with the hope of not spending any money on a transfer fee, which would only be possible if the reigning Premier League champions let him leave for free now.
Walker, who is contracted with Man City until 2026, has reportedly not taken part in Sunday's training session with the squad to discuss his future destination with his agents. Having played his entire career in England, moving to the Serie A would allow the 34-year-old to add a second major league in Europe to his resume.
