With few hours until kick off, surprising news arrive from Milan, as Lautaro Martinez could start from the bench in the Champions League showdown between Manchester City and Inter Milan, according to 'Sky Sports Italia's Matteo Barzaghi.
The decision to reduce Lautaro's minutes from the Italian champions might be taken as Inter go up against city rivals AC Milan in the 'Derby de la Madonnina' on Sunday - just four days later. Lautaro might, therefore, have to sacrifice himself, as head coach Simone Inzaghi will want to take into account both games.
With Lautaro potentially excluded from the starting XI, 'Sky Sport' predict that Mehdi Taremi is set to replace the Argentinian, starting alongside French international Marcus Thuram, who has been in form in recent games with four goals in four matches in Serie A.
Man City's task to take home the 3 points might now become easier, as Inter possibly themselves without their main striker in the first stages of the game. Lautaro is not the only star said to miss out on minutes from kick-off, as the upcoming Milan crunch might see Inzaghi make several changes.
Inter's starting line-up - as per Sky Sports Italia' - could be following: Sommer, Bastoni, Acerbi, Bisseck, Carlos Augusto, Zielinski, Calhanoglu, Barella, Darmian, Thuram, Taremi.
