Claudio Giraldez replace Benitez as Celta new head coach

Celta have made official the appointment of Claudio Giraldez, until now coach of Celta Fortuna, to the first team following the dismissal on Tuesday of Rafa Benitez, who still had two and a half years left on his contract.
Giraldez will lead his first training session on Wednesday at eleven o'clock in the morning at the Afouteza sports complex, where he will be accompanied by the coaching staff who worked with him in the reserve team. His official match debut will be next Sunday against Sevilla at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.
The coach from Porrino made the step up from the youth team to the reserve team in the 2022-23 campaign, in which he qualified for the promotion play-offs, where he was defeated by Eldense.
In the current season, and after 27 games played, Celta Fortuna are fifth with 47 points. Celta C-Gran Pena coach Fredi Alvarez will replace Giraldez in the Celtic youth team.
