Madrid are already in Munich and are ready to face the first leg against Bayern, a game in which Fede Valverde will not be absent: "I'm fine, excited. After enjoying a lot of games this season. Competing in Madrid is the most beautiful thing there is and I try to make the most of it. I'm looking forward to the game".
Looking back, the Uruguayan player was questioned about not having taken the penalty in the shoot-out against Manchester City: "That night I went to bed with the regret of having been able to leave that mark on Madrid, of going through to the semis with a goal of my own, especially because I'm good at penalties. But I like to qualify no matter what, and if another team-mate did it, that's fine. But I had a bitter taste, yes. Sometimes you have to put your ego and pride aside, recognise that you're very tired and tell the coaching staff that you're not ready to take a penalty. Hopefully in the future I'll be stronger and it won't happen again".
"In the Champions League every team deserves respect and every game is very complicated. But we have a lot of quality, commitment and desire to play, so people should know that too", said Fede Valverde in relation to whether what awaits Madrid will be 'easy'.
Furthermore, he also mentioned whether he has had to change anything to play alongside Kroos in midfield. "I've grown up in the double pivot, so I haven't had to adapt much. I just really enjoy playing alongside a star, an idol I've always looked up to. I'm proud to play alongside him. I will always play wherever they tell me to play. Sometimes they take me away from Kroos, but that means bringing me closer to Modric. This club is a privilege and I enjoy it very much," he said.
