Complaint against Ancelotti processed after Valencia insults

A Valencia shareholders group announced on Monday that the Public Prosecutor's Office has begun processing a complaint against Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, for a possible slander offence against Valencia and their fans.
On May 21st, Valencia and Real Madrid faced off in a match that was interrupted after Vinicius Jr was racially abused by fans from the stands, a situation which is still under investigation, with three fans identified as possible perpetrators.
After the match resumed, the Brazilian player was sent off and as he was leaving the fans chanted "idiot". After the match, Ancelotti said that Mestalla had "gone mad" for having chanted "monkey, monkey" at him, but although he was told of his mistake, he did not rectify his accusation or apologise until two days later.
On May 23rd, the shareholders association filed a complaint against Ancelotti for a possible slander offence, claiming that he "treated the more than 46,000 fans who attended the match as racists".
"He made false accusations, possibly intentionally, and as a result Valencia C.F. has seen their image, as well as that of their fans and shareholders, damaged," said the complaint, which points out that his reach as Madrid coach multiplied that effect.
Now, the group reported that the Public Prosecutor's Office "will investigate a possible crime of slander" and has recalled the "enormous damage" done to Valencia and its fans, given that his accusations "crossed borders".
